Mimidora The Explorer

I woke up early today because i need to look for the LBC to be able to send some of my things home. I can't put them all in my luggage because i will have to pay for overweight fees.

I looked for the address online and the telephone number. I tried calling the number but it just ate up load because of the answering machine thing.

I looked for the Calle Fernando El Catolico but aparently LBC is not there anymore... So i used a public phone to try calling again and por fin! Someone answered and told me the REAL direction.

It's now in Calle Doctor Cirajas, 12, and you have to take metro line 5, the green one to Ciudad Lineal and then take the Salida (exit) Centro Commercial. Walk a little and turn right and that's it! haha

In metro Quevedo there's some kind of hi tech passenger guide on the platform. ¡Que Guai!!! (how cool!)

I passed 3 men today that all said the same thing to me "hola chinita guapa!"....(hello beautiful chinese girl)..... I'm not from China (-_-)#

And then i finally found the LBC and met Vicky and Tess. They explained to me the process of a "balikbayan box" or the really really huge box that i think 2 of me can fit inside. I'll just come back tomorrow to bring all my stuff because i still need to buy Sardines :)

I went back to eat lunch because i don't want to be paying for food i am not sure of. With Mamá Eva's cooking i am always sure it's good :)

I rushed to school because i might be a little late. During class, Carolina told me she had a little gift for me and then brought out my certificate :) instead of writing "principio de Avanzado B2 (Beginning if Advanced B2)" because i am only able to take 1 week of this level, she just wrote "Avanzado B2" because she feels that even without to the next chapters of the book, i can make it :)






i'm so happy. And my evaluation, almost all are 9's except for auditory skills which was a 10 :) those are the highest grades tey can give :)






i'm really happy and my family will be so proud





We had a laughing session with Carolina and Abel. I really hope i could stay longer but i can't.

After school i went to El Corte Ingles to buy a few more books and keyboards with Spanish characters, and ofcourse Sardines. My friend Ruben from the book section was not there so i just left a message since he does not have work fridays and saturdays and those are my last days in Madrid.

These are the books i bought today. The bigger ones were on sale.





The books and the 20 sardines and the keyboard were heavy!!!! But i managed :) i just wonder how i can bring these to LBC tomorrow. I don't feel like taking a taxi because taxi drivers here drive as if it's the last trip of their lives.
I finally saw "el niño con el pijama de rayos" (the boy in the striped pyjamas). I watched the movie and it was soooo sad





Now i habe to bring all of these home

There were donuts, cookies and galletas today but i made sure i got the galletas before anyone else could:

Well, it was cold today and i ran out of tights because i had to dump them in laundry basket and i could not wash my clothes yet because it was always raining. So i had to weat something a bit summery and just put a scarf on... But in this picture, no scarf:






Today is the day before our exam and oh my goodness thanks to Esteban i was able to ask questions regarding the stuff that i did not understand.

Well, some of my classmates found out that i had been taking paparazzi pictures of them and y classmate Emmanuel now calls me "pequeña paparazzi"(small paparazzi)
This is Emmanuel. I asked him this time for a picture because it's his last week.





Caroline is really nice. She's very approachable and funny :)





Amy is a paparazzi too! Like me, she loves to take pictures. She took one of me today and turned it into some kaleidoscope picture but it's still in her iPad :)





Lunch for today was rice with this tomato sauce and tuna but i was only able to take a picture of the Humus, an arabic type of dip :) it was good with pita bread.





After lunch, i really had to study already so here we go!
I studies until evening and hey! Look at my "study hair" hahaha! Yes everytime i study i look like that:





This is my exercise book for A2 :) i am really hoping that next time, i will be using B1...

I ate dinner with Jaime and Colleen tonight and we ate this chicken meal that Mama Eva cooked with apples and beer. This is the same thing i ate afew days ago. It's actually good but Jaime did not like it much.

Well it's study time so, i am going to cut this entry short... Even if it's pretty long already.

I was not able to finish this blog entry on time because i had to do so much things today.

I woke up a little later than usual because it's a Saturday :)

Guess what i had for breakfast? Yes! Galletas as usual :) Mama Eva had been insisting that i go to The Plaza del Puerto del Sol and so i looked for it on my map and which metro is closest to it.

I decided to play with my make up today instead of daily fashion statements.

I walked to the metro and grabbed a metro map because i forgot my metro map back home and i checked which stations i have to change lines if necessary. Well, it was a straight ride from Estrecho to Sol.

Once i got out of the station i saw right away, flyers and posters and tents and lot's of protesters.... Apparently their protesting has not finished yet.

I took pictures ofcourse and then left them alone. I walked around and i saw TOPSHOP!! :)




i checked the topshop website and apparently this is the only topshop in Spain.

There's a nice clothin store in Spain which i was able to visit earlier. Blanco :) i love their footwear and dresses




I walked some more and checked out some souvenir shops... I was even thinking to myself "it's ok to get lost in Madrid today.... It's a saturday, i don't have class and there are lots of metro stations everywhere"

...true enough i did get lost :) i walked and walked and walked i even saw a gathering of hearin impaired people :)



it's kind of nice to get lost sometimes.

I found my way back to the El Puerto del Toledo station... It's quite far from Sol station so i can't believe until now how much i walked.

I finally arrived home, ate lunch and called my folks.

Mama Eva left for awhile and after a few minutes i left the house as well to buy a bottle of "Suavizante por Las Ropas" or Fabric Conditioner :)

Along the way i saw so many stores with beautiful items both clothes and accessories, much much cheaper than in H&M and Bershka, Mango and Zara...

But i was sad because i found out that my favorite accessory store was cloain and it was the last day today.

I was sooooo tired so i walked back home and Mama Eva was back waitin for her friend to contact her because they were going out today.

I read the newspaper as usual and a few brochures. Mama Eva's friend finally arrived.

They left and now it was my chance to wash the clothes i don't want to be washed in the washing machine... Oh man that was tiring, washing, wringing and most specially the hanging because you know how vertically challenged i am, it was hard to reach the clothes line.



I ate dinner while waiting for my clothes to be left for awhile on the suavizante and then i came backto rinse and wring and hang.





After the hanging, i took a bath. A good one.

i decided to watch tv a little. Mama Eva is still not here and she told me anyway that i cam watch whenever i want.

Such a long day, must sleep already :) before i went to sleep i listened to Chanquete Radio España and to my surprise, "A Dios Le Pido" (i ask God) by Juanes played!!!!!!! Juanes! Oh by the way he's coming on 20 July.... I really hope i can watch his concert even if i'm faraway from the stage :)

Anyway, i really have to sleep already. I'm going to a museum tomorrow with a friend :)

I woke up today by alarm clock. I prefer that here in madrid :p

Oh my goodness, more galletas today! Hahahaha! Literally more today

After eating Mama Eva seemed to insist that i leave the house because i am always. In the Philippines my mum would hate it if i went out much. Here, my Spanish mum hates it when i stay too much indoors. Hahahahaha! The world no?

Well i was expecting it to be a bit warm today so i wore shorts with my baggy tank top and a polo top just in case it got cold.



And it was a bit cold but the tolerable cold, because it rained last night and it seemed like it's going to rain again today.



It was the last day of classes for Papa Ingo, Michelle, Felipe, Chun Xiang, Isil and Igor. Well Igor was just going to transfer to Cadiz. So it was just me, robin, induja and eneas left for monday.

After class i decided to call my family on facetime already so that after eating lunch i can leave for somewhere.

Oh but it's raining so i dont know if it would be nice to go out. It is a bit cold. But even if i am wearing shorts, the cold is still toleranle unlike last week.

I arrived home and i had omelette again and bread but i don't mind because it was really good :)

Mama Eva apparently is leaving me alone in the house tonight because she has some tourist guide meeting thing i don't really understand the point of the meeting. Irina will be out for 2 days with Nicolas her boyfriend and his family because they are going to the country side :)

Well, as usual, after lunch i fell asleep again since i have nothing much to do, and when i woke up i read my Enredados book and i am sorry to the book lovers but i wrote on my book. I had to :p it's easier for me to remember words if i write on my book.



After hours of scribbling, searching and reading, i decided to eat dinner at 21:00... As you can see it had been wrapped since earlier, ready to be placed in the microwave or what we call here the "micro-onda"



so that i can do more with my time. And yes i washed my clothes again... Well some of it :) and i took a bath, blah blah... Oh by the way i bought laundry pins so that the next time i hang my newly washed undergarments i can use 2 pins at a time and i am sure that it won't fall into "oblivion" ever again!!!

Then i watche tv. There was nothing interesting on tonight except for the "atrapa los milliones" or something like that... It means "catch the millions). It was a game show i cannot explain much because i did not really pay much attention :)

Then a show came up about prostitution in Spain... Supposedly it is legal in Spain but the pimps get punished for the human trafficking...

Then Mama Eva came home and i decided to retire for the night because i want to go around tomorrow. So...

I forgot to set my alarm again today but it was a good thing i automatically wake up at 7.

I ate breakfast, the usual. And as usual, i kept one cake to bring to school :)

I wore my flamenco looking skirt today yehey!

Well i thought of going to La Plaza del Sol today. It was the plaza where the protesters gathered before the elections. Now that the elections are over it is now safe to go there to see the beauty of the place.

Anyway, i had complete school paraphernalias today and i came to class supposedly on time but my classmates were not in the room yet. Then a girl came in to tell my professor Jose that she has come to observe the teaching style because she is a new teacher. Her name is Isabel but unfortunately i was not able to take her picture.

There was a part in class where we were supposed to share something about our own country's history and i am proud to say i was able to say my piece in Spanish :) i am very happy. We talked about Spanish history as well. We had a little activity in class where we had 2 groups and eah group had a paper with moments in Spanish history. Our paper had items with the dates and some without. Apparently the ones without the dates are the dates the other group had and we had to say "blah blah was discovered blah blah years before the first number on the paper" haha! It was fun. We had to do a little math and say a mouthful of numbers in Spanish.






Esteban is still sick and i joked that he should stop smoking and pointed out the wrapper of his cigarette that says "fuma puede matar" or smoking can kill.

I am still a little bit confused with the past tenses of Spanish verbs but i am slowly getting it and i am happy i am :)

I rushed home because i was terribly hungry. I arrived and Mama Eva and Irina were there eating and i ate with them. Then i notice Irina's shirt and i thought we had the same shirt but apparently it was my shirt that Mama Eva thought was Irina's :) But it was ok. She can borrow it :)

I went to my room to wait for calls. I am thankful for technonogy for bringing me closer to my family even if i am miles away.

I fell asleep yet again. I don't like this. Instead of spending time doing more productive things like observing the culture and talking to someone to practice i am here asleep in my room. Ay ¡Que horrible!

After my nap, i read a little of my book and then did my homework.
For once in my life i love homework!!!






I read the newspaper and it was sad to know that a lot of people were laid off by a telephone company here 8,000+ all at once.






Well to feel better, i read my "Enredados" book... Yes! "Tangled" in Spanish :)






I read and read and read and after that, i was called to eat dinner :)

I ate Spanish Omelette or Tortilla con Patatas :) it was really good and it was a very authentic home made Spanish omelette.






After dinner Mama Eva an i ha a little heart to heart talk about growing up and then i did my evening ritual (bath, lotion, moisturizer, etc.)

This was a pretty normal day with nothing special really but i enjoy everyday here. Just like what my new friend Eleazar told me ".. disfruta mucho de tu estancia en Madrid! Aprovechala al máximo porque vale la pena! :)" (enjoy your stay in Madrid very much! Make the most of it because it's worth it!) :)
