Day 58: El Palacio Real and Día del Orgullo Gay

Today is the big party for the "El Día del Orgullo Gay" or the Proud Gay Day :) i had been waiting for this day. I'm so proud of Spain because they have something like this.

But since the party won't be til the afternoon, Alana and I decided to visit the "Palacio Real" or the Royal Palace of Spain located here in this lovely lovely city of Madrid.

We left a little late so there was a long line under the heat of the sun but we did not care.

Spongebob was outside by the way and i had my picture taken with him

We finally got in after being baked!!!

It was freakin' hot outside. Anyway, pictures are once again not allowed but i really really want to take pictures and "if there's a will, there's a way"
And this way, is the entrance to this marvelous section of the palace. I swear if the guard saw me he would kill me.

And this is the ceiling of this entrance:

And then i think this was some kind of throne room. We did not have a tourguide so... Haha

Can you see the chinese design in the corners of the ceiling? And the embroidered wall? The wall took more than 20 years to make by women who embroidered it by hand. It was amazing!!! The threads have silver and other kinds of thread but this was truly amazing!

Then we entered another room and our jaws dropped yet again... This room's walls are made of porcelain!!!!!!!

And the beautiful dining area was breathtaking!! Super Impresionante

There was a room also woth 5 pieces from Stradivari that were fron the 1700. Violins and cellos. Buenisimo!

They also had receiving rooms that had a chinese design. I'm not chinese but it's somethin oriental and i was proud :) (sorry i could not rotate the pic)

This is one of my favorite parts. The Royal Pharnacy :) it was amazing! They had drawers and jars for different herbs and medicines :)

Then we also visited the Royal Armory

We could not get over the beauty of this palace i had to buy a guidebook that i can give my parents because they were not able to see this

Alana and i looked for a place to eat after because we were hungry.
We found a place nearby which was cozy and their menu of the day was amazing. I had spaghetti bolognese and the iberian ham

... And now it's gone:

Then we visited El Mercado de San Miguel. But we did no really linger and went back to Sol

We ate ice cream in Farggi and i ate Yogur Griego, or Greek Yogurt flavor and it was the best!!!!

It was really hot today, it is good i placed Crema Solar (sunblock) but Alana did not so her shoulders burned a little

We wet back home because Mamá Eva and i will attend a concert of her dance teacher.
We took the bus an it was amazing because there was Wi-Fi in the bus!!!!

We reached Plaza España and we saw the party starting

Amd so many people came to watch this event :)

Finally we were able to go inside the theater where the dance concert will take place. It was a mix of indian, arabi and other dances

It was amazing! How graceful te dancers were. Apparenty the lead dancer (the teacher of Mama Eva), had only been dancing for 4-5 years an she's amazing.

After the concert, we went to watch the parade

There were so much people and they some were even on their balconies just to watch. They also placed gay flags on buildings

I was really happy i was able to witness this event

This was the GLBT's time to shine :)

Lookie! His butt is exposed :)
I've never seen an event like this ever.

They're not afraid to show anything and it's such a glorious moment for them :)

I have so many gay friends who i am sure would have loved to witness this too

And i'm glad i watched it with my Mamá Eva

There was a drunk guy dancing too :)

And when it was time for us to go home, in the metro was a drunk guy too :)

Well, when we arrived home, Irina and her friend Mara were back home and Alana as well :) we had pasta for dinner and tomorrow were goig to El Rastro :)

It was a loooong but fun day,

Day 57: Camino (Movie)

I woke up late today :) 08:30!!! I hate it when that happens but oh well, at least Alana and i were able to leave the house early and arive in school on time.

What's new abiut morning classes? Nothing. I still feel stupid in Marisa's classes.

But Secci's class was great!! We watched a movie and he did not tell us what movie because we might look for the summary or whatever but what's weird is yhat when the title finally appeared on the screen, i realized, it was the movie i bought 3 days ago but i have not watche it!! Haha! It was "Camino":

It's a true story about a girl who i think has cancer but i am not sure what type but i think the title has 2 meanings because Camino is her name but "camino" also means "path" in Spanish. It was a movie about the paths she takes in her life fighting her sickness and falling in love. It's a true story :) it's a bit heavy but it's very nice and no wonder it received so many Goya awards.

Anyway i shall stop there because if anyone runs into my blog who wamts to watch it and reads this i might spoil it.

After class, i went straight to El Corte Ingles to buy something for my mum because it's July already and now starts the crazy sale season.

I also bought a book :) it's "El Regreso del Joven Principe" (The Return of The Little Prince) but it's in Spanish though.

I am starting to buy books because when i go back to the Philippines i won't be able to buy Spanish books anymore. Except online. But that's kind of a hassle, and because i love walking around in bookstores browsing through books, etc.

I fell asleep again this afternoon and so i missed my chance to visit a museum but i guess i can go tomorrow.

Oh!!! Irina passe her entrance exam!!!! ¡Felicidades Mi Hermana!!! (Congratulations my sister) i'm so happy for her! She's so smart! Out of the 190 i think, she was #40 :) there were so many people who tried out for this school an she was in the upper half :)

Anyway, we ate dinner and we had the Moroccan chicken again, with pancit :)

Mamá Eva an Irina left to watch a concert and Alana and I were left alone and we practiced speakig Spanish with each other and we talked til 11:

I am annoyed right now because there's someyhing wrong with my laptop. It won't search for networks so it can't detect the wifi connection here at home. Niw i can't use my laptop to connect to the internet and that's very inconvenient because
1) if i want to post pictures i can't
2) if i use my iphone to connect to the internet all the time my battery is screwed
3) a laptop has a bigger screen and therefore easier to read stuff when i study grammar stuff online...

¡¡Vaya!!!!

and now it's time to go to bed :c

Day 56: Filipino Pancit :)

I had really little sleep, but it's ok because i had so much fun last night.

Alana and I went to school as usual, talkin in Spanish and trying o translate stuff :) she's such a nice girl. I actually enjoy her company.

In school, mornings for me are THE WORST! these past few weeks, and my classmates know why. It's the last day of 2 of my classmates, Caroline and Rosie. I'm going to miss them.

I swear my brain does not function in Marisa's class!! I feel stupid in her classes.

I lacked energy because i was tired but i was able to participate in class :) Secci made me explain or summarize the disney movie Atlantis :)

After class i just had to have a picture with Caroline and Ana

I really need to gain back my weight. I lost a lot here, you can see from my arms.

Try to compare. Here'a a picture of me taken by a friend a few weeks before i left the Philippines:

And here's my picture taken a few day ago:

I look healthier when i'm not this thin and when i have bigger cheeks. I had been eating plenty but, yeah. It's hard.

Anyway, I have a picture with Rosie too:

When i arrived home, oh how glad i was! I really needed to sleep. I did and then my folks called me, but i went back to sleep. I wanted to visit a museum this afternoon but i guess i'll just do it tomorrow.

Dinner time and i was so happy because Mamá Eva cooked "pancit"!!! It's a Filipino dish, a type of Filipino noodle dish :)
It was spicier than the typical pancit but it was great!! I ate it with Alana ;)

After dinner i watched the Aviator in Spanish and then now i have to go back to sleep because i have class tomorrow.
